About Arts @ MacPherson

 

Arts @ MacPherson is a series of art initiatives which aim to create delight in everyday experiences through pops of unexpected art around the neighbourhood.

Since 2018, MacPherson residents have come together with artists to enliven their public spaces through the co-creation of 12 community arts projects. From the everyday to the extraordinary, these permanent creative installations will celebrate MacPherson as they will be inspired by the resident’s own memories and stories of their neighbourhood.

  • What inspiration do artists take from neighbourhoods?

  • What kind of conversations should we foster to bring joy and delight to residents of MacPherson, and how can we creatively tackle neighbourhood issues through arts?

  • How can residents be more involved in making their neighbourhoods better?

Arts @ MacPherson explores these questions and more by bringing in artists to work alongside the community to build art interventions in unexpected public spaces which are hidden gems around MacPherson.

Participate in Design (P!D) is a registered non-profit design, planning and educational organisation that was founded in 2013 to expand on the participatory design work that its founders, Jan Lim and Mizah Rahman, have been doing since 2010.

With over 9 years of community design experience, we have since partnered with grassroots organisations, educational institutions and statutory boards in various initiatives to build engaged and empowered communities.
